I have a bootable external hard disk I use on occasion, and since it never leaves my house I never bothered to put a password on it. I discovered that when I tried to install mencoder, mplayer, and mpeg2enc, the sudo command fails. I don't know if that's a limitation of sudo or of ffmpegX, but I though you should know.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Apple's implementation of the sudo command, at least for Mac OS X 10.5 and later, requires a non-blank admin password.
