Hi
Just downloaded VCDEasy and installed it on my computer which is running Win Xp and HP CDRW-9500.
Followed the instructions on the site regarding the ASPI drivers and downloaded ASPI Package 4.70. Carried out the instructions specific for Win Xp but first run aspichk which reported WOWPOST.EXE and WINASPI.DLL missing. Followed the instructions regarding install.bat and run aspiinst.
Run aspichk again which now reports "ASPI is properly installed and fully operational" although the message is greyed out.
Problem is that VCDEasy still reports at the bottom right that ASPI is not valid and when I enter the program a message appears reporting that no CD RW was found or ASPI driver problems.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Carlos

I had to enable the ASPI layer for WinXP before VCDEasy would recognize the CDRW drive. I used FORCE ASPI V1.7 to install the Adaptec v4.6 drivers.
Be forewarned that there has been a number of problems when people tried to use the v4.7 drivers. When I installed the v4.7 driver VCDEasy did not see the CDRW drive.
See http://aspi.radified.com for additional detailsAl
