Hi all
Hope that this is the right forum for this question.
I have an Intel DP55KG motherboard. I was using onboard sound until I ran into the volume fluctuating problem. The problem is that when playing mp3, mp4 or even flash video, the volume rises and lowers at random. It doesn't matter which player I use, the problem persists. After getting flustered, I installed a Asus Xonar, but the problem persists. Anyone have any ideas?
System is Windows 7 with 16 GB Ram.

From the Control Panel select the Sound applet. On the Playback tab select the playback device you are using (speakers, HDMI, whatever). Press the Properties button. Go to the Enhancements tab. Look to see if Loudness Equalization is enabled. Try disabling all effects. Etc.

Thanks for the reply but that did not fix things. I had to disable the NVidia High Definition Audio Device.
