  1. I'm having the hardest time trying to capture my bluray player via my black magic intensity pro cap card.

I have successfully gotten audio and video from my Xbox using Wirecast but now I want to try and cap my bluray player but so far I have been unsuccessful

    What I have tried:

hooking up bluray player via HDMI cables - no dice
hooking up bluray player via component (RGB) - no dice
I have changed the input and output setting in the black magic control panel
even tried hooking up something different like my cable box via HDMI AND component to see if I can get that - no dice

There HAS to be a way to capture my bluray player OR even my cable box via the black magic intensity pro

    ANY ideas?

    Thanks

Why on earth are you doing this instead of just ripping the BluRay to a PC? That would be easier and quicker. The fact that you may not know a better way to copy a BluRay disc does not mean that a better way does not exist.

HDMI is protected and I do not have a Black Magic card so I cannot speak from experience, but I would not expect the Black Magic to be able to capture BluRay output that way. Component should work though so maybe something is wrong in how you set up the Black Magic, but others will have to help.

  3. Maybe I should be a little more detailed in what im trying to do

The goal of all of this is to be able to stream the olympics online. I really want to capture my cable box but after failing I decided to try to capture my bluray player since there shouldn't be any issues and I could test to make sure everything is hooked up correctly.

But now that I cant even get a picture from EITHER the cable box OR the bluray player, I'm thinking I have something setup wrong

Which video and audio connections are you using?

  6. I'm using the Component cables (RGB) with the standard Red/White audio.

I did notice something though...although the video is working...the color is of. There's a weird tint to it, like maybe its missing a color, or maybe has toomuch of one color.

I don't know what is causing your audio problem.

As far as color, component video can be RGB or YPbPr. Try changing the video source to use the other setting (if it gives you a choice) to see if it improves the color.

[Edit]I don't know what settings the BMI Pro's capture software offers for component video. Maybe the color setting needs to be changed there.
