Help editing .TS file

I need to edit my .ts file. The codecs are Mpeg-2 and ACC. What is the best program to use for that?

I run my DVR recordings through ProjectX first. It fixes all of the sync issues related to these files. There is no guarantee is till work with your files but it is fantastic with the files my box creates.
It's a JAVA based program.....it doesn't START like a normal program.

I think I have it figured out. I believe that I need to create a vbr time map so that the audio and video will be in sync. I think it has something to do with it not being at a constant bit rate. The only problem now is that it doesn't seem to work. I think I need to get mad (mpeg audio decoder: http://www.underbit.com/products/mad) or something. The only thing is I don't know which one to get or how it works.

I just found out that MAD doesn't support AAC audio. So I will need something else to sync the files, I wam willing to try the Project_X program, but I don't know how to point it to my Java home.

Alright, I figured out how to get the program working, I demuxed the file and it split it into two files, an m2v and an mp2. When I loaded them into avidemux it crashed. I am going to attach the very long log project_x gave me. It had a lot of errors and ignored many things as you will see.

Try Video ReDo. It's not free but it hasn't failed me yet when editing .ts files.

I am not willing to pay for this kind of thing though. Isn't there any program that will let me edit a .TS file with MPEG-2 and AAC codecs? All I need to do is cut parts away from it.

Of course all of this could be a waste of time. I get the feeling this is not from your set top box and you have no idea if these are copy protected or at least "scrambled" in some way.

You do realize that a set-top box/recorder that DOESN'T copy protect or adhere to the copy protection sent out by TV stations(like mine) is the RARE one....don't you?

Yes, I do, I am positive it isn't protected. When I set it to prepare a TS it split the audio into four tracks, instead of the two it was originally in and none of them have the proper audio. What if I converted the audio to a different codec using handbrake and then tried to edit it. If you think that will work then let me know what codec to change it to.
