    I can't open an ASF in VirtualDub 1.3c. I get an error saying: Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'WMV2' (unknown).

    You need to find and d/l and install the WMV2 codec from Microsoft or a vid site.

    I have WMP7.1 and installed the WMP codecs. Still, I get the error message.

    I figured it out on my own. I converted it to WMV first using windows media encoder. From there I will convert it to AVI/DIVX.
