  1. Hi every one,

First, I'd like to say thankyou for the instruction of converting DVD to VCD. It works quite well. The graphic is much better than I expected. There is a minor problem that is the vertical size of the movie (after has been converted) is a little big which results the image seems to be a lot thinner and taller compared to the original image from DVD.
My DVD is in PAL format. I have tried to use both PAL and NTSC templates for the output. PAL makes it worse. NTSC is better than PAL but it is still thin and tall compared to the DVD. I guess this is because DVD display and wide screen with 2 black bars (top and bottom).
I have also tried to modify the output size myself making the vertical size less than the default NTSC or PAL template and it came out quite OK on WinMediaPlayer. However, when I tried to burn it as a VCD, the burning software found the error and either does not accept it or accept it with the error. Of course, I could not play it after I burnt it with the error. I use Nero 5.

I wonder if anyone has the same problem with me and if anyone has come up with any solution and would like to share it.

  2. Sorry people,
I forgot to tell you that I use TMPGEnc Beta 12h to convert the movies.

  3. You will need to state what aspect ratio the original DVD is in, and what aspect ratio you wish to output through TMPGenc. Also, don't believe that the "size" you see in Windows media will be how it appears on your TV screen !
