    Hello:

    I just used
Diamond One Touch Video Capture VC500 to capture a tape. The video is rather dark, but the real bummer is that the audio is very bassy and also raspy. I had much better results with previous tapes on the same player.

I played the tape on a player connected to the TV, and the sound was fine (and the video a little lighter).

Would anyone know what could be the problem, and what I could try to fix it?

    Thanks,

    Hans L

Impossible to say without more info. What source are you capturing? How is it being played? What format are you capturing to? A few seconds of sample capture or a screen capture is what we need to see.

sanlyn, I do understand, and I would have done what you suggested if it wasn't for this:

I have checked several times on the Internet, and every time, the program in question – Catskills on Braodway – has only been available on videotape. So when I read your post, I said: "Ah, why not check one more time?" And don't you believe it, there it is now on Amazon in DVD. Go figure ... the program is from 1999!!!

So, I'll return the tape to its owner, I'll return the empty DVD disk they gave me, and I'll buy two Catskills DVDs, one for the tape owner and one for me.

I'll wait until next time I have the same quality problems that I had with this tape, and then, I'll ask again, providing the information you asked for (that day will come!!!).

Thanks for replying, and sorry for the bother.

    Regards,

    Hans L

No problem. It's always great when a video we really want shows up in print somewhere. Would be nice if it happened more often!
