I have a mkv file, with 2 x audio tracks, i want it play on my tablet ,but it only plays the foreign language (first track)
I read through some guides on here and tried to remove the audio, then i extracted the video and english audio and used mkvmerge to merge the 2 together, but when i tested on the pc the video didnt play properly, it must have shown a scene 30mins in, stayed there ,the nshowed a scene 90mins in, and stayed there. i closed it down after a few mins of gettign no where...
how do i get vid to play propeely, or what prog should i use?
    cheers

    Hi
    Start again with mkvmerge GUI.
    Don't bother extracting anything.
Just create a new file by importing only the video track and the English audio track.

thanks, will try that tonight and report back.
OK I tried the above, now when I play the file on pc it is as i wanted, but it still doesn't have English language when i play it on tablet, or any audio for that matter.. I have 2x tracks to choose - track 1 which seems to be related to the video but has no audio and track 2 which is English ... I can't select this on my tablet, but it plays OK on PC.

It could be that the English track is HD audio, either TrueHD Dolby Digital or DTS-HD MA and if that is the case then you need to demux the audio from the MKV using tsMuxeR because this program can downconvert the audio into a standard Dolby Digital AC-3 audio file or standard DTS audio file. Then use the downconverted demuxed audio file to make a new MKV file.

You should use MediaInfo for this but from that screen shot the first audio track appears to be AAC and the 2nd appears to be normal DTS.

From your explanation the 2nd track isn't playing on your Tablet so I guess your Tablet doesn't do DTS audio. So you will have to convert it.

I would use rebox.NET which is a simple program that will convert this to a MP4 file. Basically it will NOT re-encode the video but will re-encode the DTS track to AAC and then it should play fine on your Tablet.
