  1. I have an AVI that I extracted the audio with Virtual Dub. Then use TMPGEnc 2.53 to encode. The last 3 movies have the audio out of sync by about 2 seconds. Before this I had no problems with audio. Is there a way to line up the audio to the correct place??

Open your SOurce CLip in Vdub. go to FILE - FILE INFORMATION
Look near the bottom for the ms value of the preload skew (ie .13ms)

Open TMPG, Put your clips as the Source Files (with this method you don't need to strip out the wav file of the audio)

In your SOURCE RANGE filter, at the bottom input this value (using the arrows to put it in, if you just type it it won't hold). Also, rather than .13 you'd put in 13. In your case it might be 2.

Save your files down to Projects and batch encode.

    You'll be good to go.

  3. Ok, thx for the reply! Couple more questions. If the AVI is fine sync wise why would the wav I'm ripping out be about 2 seconds ahead of the video when I encode it and how do I tell exactly how far out of sync it is? This only started happening the last few movies. I'm using new Divx 5 codec, Virtual Dub 1.4.9 and TMPGEnc 2.53.

  4. Ok bear with me im not real good at explaining my problem with that said. I use TMPgenc to encode my video files that I download from kazaa the only problems I ever seem to come across are synch problems and some error called (illegal floating decimalpoin calculation order)

Synch problem: the file is Divx I open it in windows media player 7.1 at some point during the (Buffy epi 2x07) a door slams and no more sound for the rest of the show, but if I fast forward it a little sound returns perfect order, the problem is i'm making a VCD out of it with TMPgenc while im encoding it, no problem but after the encoding when I try to play the encoded file on the same player or my DVD player the same point sound stops in the original file (door slaming) is the last noise on the encoded file and it repeats over and over until the end.

If anyone at all can walk me through these 2 problems I would be forever gratefull...please keep in mind that I have read all the how too's and have concluded I should consider a carrer as a post it so feel free to be extreamly detaild with your ideas thanx

  5. Hey lightningmax, you posted your problem in my thread.

Spidey, I was able to sync the audio per your instructions. I had to set the audio offset to -2150 ms. Also, using newest version of TMPGE, I was able to manually input that number instead of using the arrows.
    Thx!

Does anyone know why I would be getting the audio offset in the first place? I've encoded 10 or 12 movies with no problem until the last 3. The AVIs or fine, it happens using TMPGE.
