iv50 is an ancient indeo video codec that hasn't been supported by many people at all in ages.

There may be an iv50 codec out there somewhere that will work in something like virtualdub that uses separate codecs, unlike avidemux or vlc.

FFDshow supports Intel IV50; just open the VFW/video decoder (directshow) config and set it from disabled to Libavcodec.

  6. if i do like this"FFDshow supports Intel IV50; just open the VFW/video decoder (directshow) config and set it from disabled to Libavcodec"
then i can import avi video containing iv50 codecs into avidemux without any green screen?

Probably not. AVIDemux uses its own internal codecs and filters, I believe. But you can use ffdshow with VirtualDub.
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?

Download this file and extract the contents.
    http://www.virtualdub.org/beta/DShowInputDriver-0.93.zip

Copy the \release\DShowInputDriver.vdplugin file and put it in the Virtualdub plugin folder.
    Restart Virtualdub.

To open video files using the plugin:
    file/open. Highlight your file
and at the bottom where it says "files of type" set it to directshow input driver"

However, I also so noticed that Windows XP has native support for IV50, Virtualdub in XP
can open it without any problems.

It's the same as your earlier post set it to libavcodec in the VFW decoder configuration , except it works for vdub, NOT avidemux
