  1. Anyone else have a prob. opening .AVI files encoded with v5??

    No, not really.

    These are from a post I just did to give you some ideas or how to fix any problems you may be having.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    DO you have the codec for DivX v 5.0 installed ? (ie do you hear audio and no video ?)

    Have you upped your priority of the DirectShow Media Filter ?
    Open TMPG - go to OPTIONS - ENVIRO SETTING - VFAPI Tab - rt click Dir Show Filter- Increase Prioirity

    Lastly, you could frameserve it through Vdub into TMPG. See CONVERT to the left
