Good morning everyone!
I have a PAL avi source but my playback capabilities are only NTSC. I read that I can convert it by selecting the VCDNTSC template in TMpegenc. Does this actually work or will mess up the playback (I would test this myself but it takes almost 6 hours for my computer to do a conversion for a 50 miniute file . . .slow). What is the best way to convert a PAL source for NTSC playback. All help is certainly appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott

Well there is a How To entitled "How to convert PAL to NTSC with TMPGEnc".
Now I don't have your PAL source but i see a nifty tool under the tools
section called AVIChop. If you cut me say a 2 min piece of your 50 min
clip, I could try it out for you on my slow a$$ machine. I'm guessin
It will take me about 15 min to encode.
Let me know if AVIChop works for ya!I mean it in the nicest way. -
well an NTSC movie will play just fine as NTSC on my PAL Philips DVD player. I know that a PAL vcd sent to the states plays fine encoded as PAL. Try a little sample encoded as PAL and test it on your players.
Use the SOURCE feature in the advanced settings of TEMPEnc to test.TOMMO
