iPad 2 Not cutting on

Guys,

My ipad 2 is not coming on. I have it plugged in attempting to charge, and when i press the power button i do not even get "bread" out of her. It doesn't come on plugged in or out. I cannot remember if the battery was low before it went out, how ever if it was low, and would recharge and turn on. What could possibly be wrong? Is the battery dead, and do i need to replace it? Is ther anything i can do to troubleshoot?

try a hard reset. if that doesn't work it needs to go to an apple store, there is nothing the average person can work on in an ipad.

I have this same problem often with my iTouch.
With it unplugged from the charger: Hold the Home and Power buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds. The Apple Logo should appear onscreen. Release Home and Power buttons. In about 1 minute the unlock screen should come on. If not then see an Apple store.

The above procedure is safe and will not delete any of your data, apps or settings if followed correctly.
