Yeah i have downloaded about 3 blu ray burners that should be able to burn my movie to my blu ray disc, so i can watch it on tv. my computer has blu ray rom, it was there when i bought it. Now, when i add my movie to the burner, it allows me to choose the rom, now there should be the DvD-Rom and the BD-rom, but there is only Dvd-rom. I cant burn my movie to BD discet because all burners i have tried, doesent have the option to choose to burn that movie to a BD-rom.
Any idea whats wrong and how can i fix this? i've been fighting with this for forever. Thx

The correct term is "burning software" and not "burners" for what you have downloaded.

Download ImgBurn. It's free and it's the best for this.

By any chance did you buy BD-R LTH discs? Look for LTH on the packaging or simply turn the disc over to the dye side. If it looks golden in color instead of purple, you have LTH discs. Many burners cannot read BD-R LTH discs. I have an LG BD burner that cannot read them but my Pioneer BD burner can.

Finally, you need to find out if you have a BD burner drive or simply a BD-ROM (this means Read Only) drive that cannot ever burn BD discs. Nero has a drive tool that can tell you what your burners are capable of burning. I don't know a good way to determine this outside of Nero but you can get your burner model number via ImgBurn and look it up and see if it really can burn BD discs or not. Some manufacturers just ship BD-ROM drives that can't burn BD discs to save money.

    You could always ask 'Sandra'

    http://www.sisoftware.co.uk/?dir=&location=pinformation&langx=en&a=

Will provide full capabilities of all your disks including BD-roms etc. as well as loads of other useful info.

Here is what the software reported of my BD drive. As you can see it can burn dvds but can only play blu-ray.

I've seen this come up a few dozen times over the years. It is almost always because the drive is a combo drive, which will read and write to cds and dvds, but will only read blu ray.

Tell us the model of your blu ray drive.

More accurately, people who have had CD WRITER/DVD READER combo drives, or CD WRITERS wondering why their CD burners would not read or write to a dvdr.......

Which I have seen here 100 times if i have seen it once.......

The disc is the same size, it fits, why wont it work ??
Why can't I burn CD audio to a dvdr to get way more music on a disc and play it in my car's CD player ??
It's CD format so why won't it work ?
