Last we heard, multiAVCHD was abandonware. Looks like the author got interested in it again.
I stopped using AVG a few years ago because they made it so difficult to get the free version that it wasn't worth the effort to me. Do note that ALL anti-virus and anti-spyware programs are capable of false positives. Assuming you downloaded this from the author's site, there's no indications on that site that he has bundled this with any spyware or adware programs. In fact, his website not only denies this, recent posts on Doom9 do not mention anyone seeing this at all. Barring evidence to the contrary, AVG seems to be giving you a false positive here. -
I tried to update to new version. Initially I got this error:
(RT) Application "c:\multiAVCHD\multiupdate.exe" cannot be executed - Line 96.
Second try was ok. No warning from COMODO free Internet Security.
Cheers

I might try a separate on demand malware scanner (like malwarebytes) on it. False positives are a big problem with antivirus software.
FWIW microsoft security essentials is about the best antivirus re. false positives. It's the only one for windows that's never caused problems on the local university network.
Although I'm not encouraged by the above posts in general. -
WARNING: It definitely is possible to get infected from trying to download and install multiAVCHD!
Here is my detailed report to the developer: https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/345670-MultiAVCHD-Adware?p=2289215&viewfull=1#post2289215 -
not correct. it's not multiavchd but an added "installer" from some other site you are getting infected from.

If you actually read what I wrote you'll find that's just what it says.
What makes this particularly troubling is that the link to the infected downloader is on the author's own website.
This site points to the author's website, making it all too easy for people here to get sent to the infected downloader, hence my warning.Last edited by JNavas; 18th Dec 2013 at 19:17.
