  1. I am trying to transfer a collection of music videos from VHS tapes to DVD-R discs with my new Panasonic LF-D311 drive. I am using the following:

    VirtualDub
    TMPEG (VD frameserving)
    DVDIT! PE
ATI Radeon 64 MB DDR VIVO

I was trying to capture videos at 640x480 with virtual dub and resizing them to 352x240 with the TMPEG VCD (NTSC) template. I was wondering if I could potentially capture NTSC VHS video (I know it only has a res of 640x480) at 720x480 with virtual dub and created MPEG2 files at that resolution too. Since that resolution is supported by the DVD standard, can I use that in DVDIt! and expect the DVD-R to play in most standalone DVD players, which don't support xVCD or SVCD, etc? I worked out a MPEG-2 template for TMPEG with CBR set at 3300. I am having a problem with DVDIt! where it gives me an error message stating that I need to have a GOP header before every sequence header. I had this problem with both MPEG1 and MPEG2 files. What could be causing this problem? I would appreciate any help.

  2. Look to the left side of the site.

    "HOW TO...CAPTURE"
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  3. I know how to capture the video, so that guide doesn't help. I just want to know if VHS-captured MPEG2 burned on DVD-R will play on the majority of standalone DVD players without VCD\SVCD compatibility.
