    .MPEG can be used as a mpeg2 to be put on a DVD correct?

    I asking because I need to decrease my file size

    But NOT directly as mpeg/mpg/m2v etc. It has to be AUTHORED.

    Some players MAY be able to play direct mpeg files, but this isn't considered one of the "Guaranteed" supported formats, you're just lucky for now.
