When you convert DTS or DTSHD to AC3 it's better normalize AC3?

I don't think it's necessarily better, but each to their own. Personally when it comes to multichannel audio I just encode it "as-is". I generally convert DTS to AAC rather than AC3 (personal preference) and to be honest the only reason I've thought about normalizing multichannel audio in a long time is because I read your post. I do normalize when mixing down to stereo as mixing down can cause clipping if you don't... but maybe someone who normalizes multichannel might be able to explain the advantages I'm missing.....
