My goal is to duplicate YouTube's conversion process, but this time for my camera's lowest setting.
This time the approach I am taking is to load the file I am trying to duplicate into Adobe PP CS5.5 and then trying to match output settings to the source file. (In my opinion there should totally be a button for this so I can turn any video into a preset, but that's a feature request for another time.)
Will this even work?
The settings I am trying to duplicate are according to media info:
As you can see the source file is 5.57MBCode:General Complete name : E:\My Original Media\YouTube Experiments\LP%20Vixia%20HF200%20Reference.mp4 Format : MPEG-4 Format profile : Base Media / Version 2 Codec ID : mp42 File size : 5.57 MiB Duration : 1mn 0s Overall bit rate mode : Variable Overall bit rate : 771 Kbps Encoded date : UTC 2012-06-27 13:26:00 Tagged date : UTC 2012-06-27 13:26:00 gsst : 0 gstd : 60696 gssd : B4A7DD402MM1340890103565282 gshh : o-o.preferred.cbf01t04.v2.cache1.c.youtube.com Video ID : 1 Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : Baseline@L3.0 Format settings, CABAC : No Format settings, ReFrames : 1 frame Format settings, GOP : M=1, N=60 Codec ID : avc1 Codec ID/Info : Advanced Video Coding Duration : 1mn 0s Bit rate : 672 Kbps Maximum bit rate : 1 380 Kbps Width : 640 pixels Height : 360 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate mode : Constant Frame rate : 29.970 fps Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.097 Stream size : 4.85 MiB (87%) Tagged date : UTC 2012-06-27 13:26:00 Audio ID : 2 Format : AAC Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec Format profile : LC Codec ID : 40 Duration : 1mn 0s Bit rate mode : Variable Bit rate : 96.0 Kbps Maximum bit rate : 104 Kbps Channel(s) : 2 channels Channel positions : Front: L R Sampling rate : 44.1 KHz Compression mode : Lossy Stream size : 710 KiB (12%) Title : IsoMedia File Produced by Google, 5-11-2011 Encoded date : UTC 2012-06-27 13:26:00 Tagged date : UTC 2012-06-27 13:26:00
The closest I can get Adobe to approximate this is 8mb: and say it's for an apple ipad. The built in YouTube presets and the mpeg4 presets and formats are laughably wrong. They want to produce a file that's 54 megs, or some bizarre extension called *.3gp
Is there some better way to accomplish this goal? Some way of getting premiere pro to automatically match settings? If not, what am I missing?
It seems to me like I'm comparing apples and oranges, I can't seem for find hardly any of the stat from mediainfo as settings in the export dialog. It's like different naming conventions are in play.
