hello..
i am having a problem converting MP4 file to 3gp, it was succesfully converted to 3gp but the sound is "slow" and "low pitched". i dont even know how to explain the "slow" part, but it sound like when you're trying to reduce the playback speed of a movie, the sound goes slow and low, it's like that.
the video played fine, only the sound is where my problem is..
i am using E.M Total Video Converter HD version 3.50
Here is my conversion details, which is all DEFAULT,
3gp video QCIF Normal Quality
Audio Options : Audio Channel: single
Audio Codec: auto
Sampling rate: 8000 frames per second
Bit rate: 12.2 kbits per second
Volume: 255
Video Options: Video Codec: Auto
frame rate: 15 frames per second
bit rate: 75 kbits per second
Video resize: 176x144
Aspect: Normal
When i try to change the Audio Options Bit Rate of 12.2, i get an error message of "Error while opening codec for output stream #0.1 - maybe incorrect parameters such as bit_rate, rate, width or height"
Please help..
and my phone model is Nokia TV1200i, where i will be playing the 3gp.
thank you.. thank you so much..

a.. not really.. i havent tried that. you got a point..
but when i tried playing the converted 3gp file (the same file) on my Samsung GT-S5233W the output was the same, the sound quality was still like that.
but anyway, i will try your advice, maybe the problem lies on both of my phones. thank you.. =) -
No, I don't think there's problems with both phones.
But if you find a good 3gp file that plays with the Nokia, we can compare it with your converted bad file to decide what's wrong. -
genius. ^_^
googling right away for the 3gps. will take a moment... thank you sir! -
i found a 3gp. it played okay on my phone.
the file details were:
Video-
Data Rate: 220 kbps
Total Bit Rate: 233 kbps
Audio-
Bit rate: 12 kbps
now, my converted 3gp output details: (the one with funny low sound)
Video-
Data Rate: 74 kbps
Total Bit Rate: 87 kbps
Audio-
Bit rate: 12 kbps
where will i adjust those kbps? the video options on EM Total Video Converter was like this:
Video options-
Video codec: _____ (choose auto or [there is a loooong list to choose from])
Frame rate: ____ frames per second (choose original or custom)
bit rate: ____ kbits per second (choose original or custom) -
Hi
There's not enough information there.
You need to use a program such as MediaInfo (text view)
From here ---> http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en
So that you see displays something like this:-

**cool.. i didnt even know that a program like this exist. ^^ -
Hi
I can't see what the difference is between the two soundtracks.
Your sound settings are the same for both files.
They are:-
codec:amr-nb
bitrate:12.8Kbps
samplerate:8000Hz
channels:1
The video tracks are:-
codec:h263
size:176x144
framerate:15fps
The video bitrates are different, but I don't think that will cause a sound problem.
Perhaps "EM Total Video Converter" isn't good enough.
I've converted a file with FFmpeg from here ---> http://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/
Using this command:-
Code:ffmpeg -i filename.mp4 -s 176x144 -c:v h263 -b:v 250k -r 15 -c:a libopencore_amrnb -b:a 12.8k -ar 8000 -ac 1 output.3gp

No need to struggle with FFmpeg...
Consider using WinFF from here ---> http://winff.org/html_new/
Make your own preset, look here ---> http://code.google.com/p/winff/wiki/HowToMakePresets
(Or unzip the preset in the attachment and import it into WinFF)
(WinFF > Edit > Presets > Import > Save)
Preset Name:-
NOKIAPHONE
Preset Label:-
NOKIA PHONE
Preset Command:-
-s 176x144 -c:v h263 -b:v 250k -r 15 -c:a libopencore_amrnb -b:a 12.8k -ar 8000 -ac 1
Output File Extension:-
3gp
Category:-
Mobile Phones

yey! it worked fine now.
thank you..
what can i do? is there some kind of "reputation points" that i can give to you? some other forums have like that, just to show gratitude.
thank you. billion times.
