    Hello!

Sorry for the new thread, I couldn't find the answer.

I tried to add one AC3 file to one AVI (xvid). The AC3 is from one DVD with 25FPS, but the AVI has 23.967FPS.

I used AVI-Mux_GUI-1.17.8.3 and VirtualDubMod_1_5_10_2, but the new AVI has audio delay.
Like when you join audio from DVD to one MKV file. But with MKVmerge I can use the "Strech by" option with 23.976/25.000.

Is there any option like this "Strech by", in these programs, to solve this problem? Or how could I solve this?

    Thank you so much!
    (and sorry for bad English)

I don't think avi supports the stretch by feature. So you have to reconvert and stretch the audio with for example the old besweetgui.

I hope it will work. I wanted to do something like this, but I didn't know with what.

    Thank you!!!!

    EDIT:
    One problem with beesweet
when I finish the wizard, and hit "GO" then it says:
    BeSweet v1.5b31 by DSPguru.
    --------------------------
    Using azid.dll v1.9 (b922) by Midas (midas@egon.gyaloglo.hu).
    What should I do?

  4. Unless you particularly need the AVI to be 23.976, I'd add the AC3 audio using VirtualDubMod, change the frame rate to 25fps (under the Video menu), then resave it as a new AVI using Direct Stream Copy.

When it comes to mixing and matching video and audio, that's my preferred method. No re-encoding involved. Sometimes though, the two videos won't be exactly the same (aside from the frame rate) so you might have audio sync problems either way, or you might still have to add an audio delay manually after changing the frame rate.

Didn't you say that was the frame rate of one of the original AVIs?

You wish to keep the video from the 23.976fps AVI while adding the audio from the 25fps DVD or did I get that the wrong way around? I assumed you only wanted to keep one of the audio tracks. I guess they must be in different languages?

If you want to keep both it'd probably be best to slow down the 25fps PAL audio while reconverting it so (hopefully) it matches the 23.976fps video. EAC3to Conversion Utility has PAL speed up and PAL slowdown options which can be used when converting audio. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/audio_video/convert_audio/eac3to_conversion_utility.cfm

Personally I would just keep two copies of the video, each using a different audio track, but maybe you have a particular reason for only keeping one copy? Using the "two copies" method you can keep the 23.976fps AVI as it is, open it with VirtualDubMod, delete the existing audio, add the audio from the 25fps DVD, change the frame rate of the AVI to 25fps, then save the AVI as a second copy (use Direct Stream Copy when saving the video with VirtualDubMod). As long as the only difference between the AVI you have and the PAL DVD is the frame rate, it should work perfectly.

Or even better, keep the 23.976 fps AVI, and as you appear to have the PAL DVD, just re-encode the DVD as an AVI too and keep two copies of the AVI that way.
