I need to buy a new laptop and I have noticed that most do not have a PCI Express card slot at all.
Is there a USB 3.0 or esata plug in adaptor that will allow me to use Express cards externally? I need it for use with my ADVC 300 analog to video convertor. It uses firewire 400 and I need to have a PC laptop that I can plug my firewire 400 Express card into (or an adaptor that can convert a Laptop Express card to USB 3.0 or Esata).
The only options I have found are cheap and not sufficient. See below:

I have only a budget of 1,200 for a PC laptop that has a quadcore processor, which is why I am looking to see if such an adaptor exsists.

no, there aren't any adapters that work for firewire video capture. if you search enough you can still find a few current laptops with firewire ports. like this one.

Laptops were NEVER designed to be "do anything I want with it" computers. Maybe you have an absolutely fantastic reason for this, but you could get a lot more computer for less money with a tower AND be able to add cards to it. If you buy a laptop then you sacrifice the ability to upgrade it as you wish and understand that you've painted yourself into a corner. Do note that firewire support is dying on laptops and eventually you're going to have no choice but to buy a refurb (shudder) or a tower if you continue to need it. Even Apple no longer makes laptops that come with firewire connections.

I unfortunately am a freelancer that travels alot between offices during the day. So a Laptop is essential for me to use. Unfortunatley the ADVC 300 is the only good Analog to Digital convertor that I can travel with. I have to take the subway so no large convertors would work for me. Unfortunately they are not adding express slots like they used to, hopefully someone will make a express slot to USB 3.0 or esata so I can use firewire. However it looks like I may just need to spend 1,300 or a little more for a laptop that has the 3 features I need.
