  1. Hi,

I have "How I Met Your Mother" Season 1-6 on DVD, and want to rip it to DivX for easy access on my DLNA player. But for some unknown reason I have a lot of trouble with 2 episodes of season 4 - the rest goes fine, hence i doubt this is copy protection related.

Season 4 is on 3 DVDs where the content is placed in one large title and each episode is then a chapter. I rip them using Magic DVD Ripper splitting by chapter, and this works great for S4_DVD1, but on DVD2 and DVD3 the 5th episode only rips around 5 minutes and then stops. Its the same for both disk 2 and 3 - both stops at the 5th episode on the disk, and both stops after a little more than 5 minutes into that episode.
Looking at the total running time for the large title 1, it adds up to 7 normal episodes, and one 5 minutes episode.

I've tried using DVDfab latest version, but the situation is completely the same.

However even though the content seems totally missing on the disc, playing the DVD on my DVD players, and even using CyberDVD on my computer works fine - there's a short stop (<0,5 sec) where the ripping stops, but there's no problem seeing the rest of the episode.

I hope someone can give a clue to where and how to find the missing content.

    Thanks

A "rip" is an exact copy of a DVD with NO compression(Divx, Xvid etc etc), despite what you read on the interweb and even DVDFab's interface.
Having said that...."rip" and exact copy of that disc to your computer FIRST....then sort out the goofy navigation/chapter structure of the disc from there.

  3. Thanks heck54,

Ripping or not I copied the entire DVD to Harddisk, and used Womble MPEG Video Wizard to copy directly from the VOB files.

This worked well for the first DVD, including Danish subtitles But the second DVD is giving some trouble - the source (now on harddisk) contains the correct subtitles, but when creating the DVD using Womble it only contains 2 out of 4 subtitles, and sadly not the danish.

Anyone have a clue to this one?
