  1. Hello,

I have some footage shot on MiniDV that I will be capturing to VHS tape. I am hoping to be able to overlay a timecode box similar to the box seen here:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0IkGr_YS5U

onto the VHS version. Is there a simple way to do this, either in the MiniDV camcorder (A Sony DCR-HC28) or on the VCR (An old JVC I picked up from a secondhand shop)?

    Thanks,

    Lawrence

The only way it's going to happen is by checking the menu on the MiniDV camcorder to see if that option is available(timecode overlay via analog).

The TCR window you show is from broadcast VTR or time code insertion equipment.

Consumer DV cameras usually offer a "date/time/data" overlay in the menus.

Broadcast DV players often have timecode out jacks that can be fed timecode window inserters.

  4. While capturing from MiniDV tape, I used Enosoft DV Processor. It worked fine.
