  1. Windows 7 64-bit
    MPC HC 32 bit, latest

    m2ts from AVCHD camorder, 1080i

WMP can play it back with about 20% of CPU

MPC HC playback is about 1/3 of the speed with 100% CPU utilization

WMP is 32-bit so there should no problem with codec or driver.

MPC HC Filter shows MPC Video Decoder and MPC Audio Decoder is used.

    What settings are missing?

    Thanks

  2. Make sure the DXVA decoders are enabled. View -> Options -> Internal Filters (left pane) -> Transform Filter (right pane) -> h.264/AVC (DXVA), WMV3 (DXVA), etc. Exit and restart MPCHC for the changes to take effect.

  3. I've all source and transform filter enabled.

I also disabled H.264/AVC(ffmpeg) but got same result.

If I choose filter -> MPC Video Decoder, got

    DXVA settings

DXVA (H.264) Compatibility check -- drop down of 4 options
Disable DXVA for SD (H.264) unchecked
    DXVA Mode: Not using DXVA
Video card: AMD Radeon HD 6250 Graphics (1002:9804)

I've tried each value of the drop down but all with the same results.

Then I went to my desktop machine which DXVA is working. Yet the 4 lines are the same above -- Not using DXVA (the CPU usage is less than 10%).

What could be the missing element?

    Thanks

  4. I'm seeing the options jagabo listed, but not your MPC Video Decoder. (I'm using build 1.5.2.3456). On H264/AVC (DXVA) Compatibility Check, I have "Skip level check".

What jagabo suggested should have worked. Tried a reboot?
    Pull! Bang! Darn!

  5. Yeah, rebooted a few times.

Does yours show DXVA Mode: Not using DXVA?

    Thanks

  6. Solution: need to use one of the EVR

"EVR" is the fastest but it doesn't support some things like changing the alignment of the video within the MPC-HC window and it doesn't support MPC-HC's internal subtitle renderer.

EVR Sync may no longer be maintained.

    The default is EVR-CP.
