Those "false positives" have happened to other sites as well.
Another reason to switch to Opera --- which IS NOT a "modern browser" ,
    according to YouTube at least.

Easy fix for firefox is to uncheck tools/options/security block reported attack sites for now.

it's user reports that are causing it. the google report lists 25,000+ pages tested on the site and 0 pages uploading malicious software from vhelp. maybe the skimresources.com add-on to the site pissing people off?

I'm getting a warning that Videohelp is an attack site. The warning appears to be from Google? I'm using Firefox and I have block attack sites checked in my security options.

  19. Does anyone know if that malware did anything to one's computer or just this site? I had trouble booting this AM from a cold start after visiting this forum last night. All is good now after a hard shut down and re-boot. But I'm wondering.....

Don't know if it's related, but I notice since you made the changes, AVATARS are not working.

What gives google the right to do this? Do they now control the internet?

  23. Google can do whatever they want. They don't have a monopoly on search. If you don't like it, don't use them.

My question was what gives them the right to interfere with other websites, not if I use google to search.

in what way did they interfere with anything? warning of potential danger is not a bad thing.

  26. Chrome blocked the virus but IE9 let it go through, way to go Microsoft.
If you were on here last night you might want to do a virus scan.
As always Baldrick came to the rescue!

They didn't interfere with videohelp at all. They just added a warning to their search results. Google found malware at this site. Google added a warning to their search results indicating such. Baldrick confirmed the presence of malware and removed it:

What google stated was factual, true, and not intended to harm. So its statements wasn't libelous. Google has the same first amendment right of free speech as you and I.

These security gimmicks don't always work as advertised. I'm reminded of the time a while back when my retail AVG Antivirus suddenly decided to stop VirtualDub from running, and asking if I wanted to delete this "Trojan downloader". Instead, I deleted AVG. Just another of those glitches, folks.

  29. Sanlyn,
Did you read the posts in this thread(especially by Baldrick)? This was a virus not a glitch, MSE caught the virus on my PC.
