I am going around and around with not much luck trying understand and convert some .ts files that I would like to watch on my iPad and iPhone and possibly TV.
I have a .ts file of a football/soccer game which is 20gb in size. I would like to edit it to remove the commercials and pre and post game to leave just 90 minutes coverage and then convert it (m4v or mp4) so that it can be watched back on my iPad or iPhone. Ideally this same file would be able to be also watched back via an Apple TV2 to a 1080p screen or directly via a laptop.
I have tried to do this with videoredo and handbrake with mixed results.
If anyone could explain the process that I need to go through to achieve these results it would be appreciated. I have both PC and Mac so tools on either are possible. I also have an FTP server to share out a demo file if anyone would like to try for me and would consider paying if appropriate.
All advice appreciated and proposals considered... Help please![]()

The problems that I have noticed.
Once edited with videoredo the .ts file is unplayable on a laptop. The original plays fine on both pc and mac with vlc but the edited version hangs and the pictures freezes when you try to skip forward or jump back.
Despite the problems mentioned above I have then tried to convert with handbrake and some of the files convert fine and look good played back on both pc/mac and iPad and others look as if they have lines running through the footballplayers is the best way to describe it I guess.. -
Is it frame rate that is important or bitrate?? I am also getting confused with do i need detacline or any of the other settings enabled. What software should I be using to find out about the file? I have tried mediainfo and it shows the framerate as 25fps but Windows 7 and VLC show it as 50fps which is also confusing me.
I am willing to pay (paypal) if someone is willing to give up their time to explain this to me and help me get a proven process in place.
