Don't know if this will work, but want to try. Recently got a Nikon S9300. Got a mini-HDMI cable, plugged camera into a USB port. Is there anyway to look at my PC and see what is being filmed so I can adjust focus or whatever?

I doubt that will work. I've tried that with several cameras (Canon portables, Nikon D70, Nikon D90) with no luck. I believe that would be considered a "also use as a webcam" type of function.

Most digital cameras do not provide live outputs. You need to take sample pictures, then view the result. According to Nikon, HDMI out can be set to
- HDMI Output
Can be selected from:
Auto
480p
720p
1080i
