  1. Here's what I have:
    1.4 AMD Athlon
    IWILL KA266R MainBoard
    640 MB PC2100 DDR
    Maxtor 40 gig HD
    SB Live Value
    4 port Firewire card (w/ T.I. chipset)
    Matrox G400 32MB Duel Head
Matrox Rainbow Runner G-Series Capture Card

I want to replace the Matrox combo for a setup that will Run under WinXP
I need a capture that can Input from :

    S-video

    Composite

Analog (prefer Right & Left audio ports, as opposed an adapter cable that will for 2 to 1)

As well as output to a VCR
with Analog ( or a separate display card that can)

As you can see by my Current setup I don't need DV inputs.

What I can say about possible problems is ATI seems to have an Issue with the IWILL - "ALI Magic" chipset (32mb ATI Ragepro AGP cards won't even boot up to Windows) I'm not sure about the Radeon line, but I don't know of anyone with a "Iwill / ATI Radeon card"

I've was leaning toward Happague cards (partaily becuase I live 3 towns from them).

And least but not un-important for around $200 (any thing to high and my wife will dispose of my computer)

I think thats all the info I need to provide. Please be honest, I've soured on a love for one company and need something that works and is stable.

Hauppage I'm sure has some that match the spec's. I do know that a Dazzle DVC 2 or even the 1 will too. I do know that the Dazzle 1 does all you asked. The Dazzle 2 also incorporates firewire, as well as can be a pci bus interface, which I think would be better as I hate exteranl stuff.

I have a ADVC-100 and I like the converter. $300 ; Can be hacked; Can be used as break out box. Read it's comments on this forum. It doesn't miss a beat. Unfortunatly, there have been some problems reported.

"The ADVC currently has compatibility issues with Texas Instruments firewire cards. We are now working on a fix for this and will release it as soon as possible."

I have mine connected to the RaptorRT so I'm not experiencing any problems.

FYI: The compatibility problem between the ADVC-100 and the TI firewire cards has been narrowed down.
