    Hello:

I am rather brand new to video. I've doen photography for a while but haven't played with video much (in this mode at least, I work with video for concerts/shows but I don't edit or capture imagery, I work with Catalyst or Hippotizers to create live content).

I recently bought a Canon G1X and shot some video during a tour in South America, unfortunately it seems Premiere Pro wont' play any of it. I have:
    a) set my Sequence to DSLR editing with the same dimensions and frame rates as my video (1920x1080 29.976fps)
    b) tried converting them to MPEG2, and even re-outputting them on QuickTime. The files are all .MOV H.264 natively.
    c) rendered the files so they show up as "green"

For 1 brief second I managed to re-name a file as .mpg and it played, but then when I renamed all the rest and imported them they went back to not playing.

I can load them up as source and program, see individual frames, anything other than play them.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

i downloaded canon g1x sample mov clips from here. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canong1x/9

used the standard pp5.5 digital slr 1080 24p preset. but it shouldn't matter what preset the files should load in any timeline.

if you can upload a sample of yours to a hosting site and i'll take a look.
