  1. Hi there,

Is it even possible to use this script (after modification) to get the size/quality ration like the ripped dvd movies? For example I have a dvdrip of Mission Impossible 3, length - 2:12:56 resolution - 1280x536, size - 771 MB. So in average it's about 5.8 MB/min. I've tried to convert my HD video from LUMIX camera into something similar but couldn't find the right combination of parameters.
So the question is - is it possible in principle? If it's only to change a few parameters in ffmpeg command line could someone explain it to me? I'd be much appreciate it

    Thanks

wondering who encodes dvd input material at a higher resolution,... (720x480 or 720x576 -> 1280x536 seems like a waste of bit rate)
5.8 MB/min ~ 773kBit/s seems too low for any decent quality at a resolution of 1280x536
-> you might want to check you facts, this just seems wrong on too many levels to take it seriously

  3. The video from your Lumix camera is probably too noisy and shaky (and probably too high a frame rate too) to compress as well as a DVD rip. What's the problem you're having? Bad picture quality? Or failure to work at all?
