I wouldn't use it. Take a look at the tools section their are many tools that will do what you want from free.

    What other formats?

Format factory is one I'd recommend. It has lots of support and also does the following subtitles:

    srt, ass, ssa, idx

Chances are if your subtitles aren't in one of these formats there is a separate converter program online that could convert it to one of these.

Also if you simply need to remux (ie copy into another container) then you can try winff. I haven't done subtitle work with winff so I don't know how that works with winff but I'm sure it is able to do it.

(Fyi depending on how new you are to digital video .avi, .mp4, .mpg, etc are just containers, they hold the video and audio, the codecs are what the videos are actually made of - ie h264 or divx/xvid and etc - those go INSIDE the .mp4 or .avi etc).

    Try mkvtomp4.

  7. to collect a few facts:
    1. mp4 does not support picture based subtitles (there's support for idx/sub subtitle on Nero chipset devices, but tha tnever made it in the standard)
    2. mp4 support ttxt subtitles which are just basic subtitles with not much styling infos in it

    ->
    1. if you convert from a picture based subtitle format you need to run OCR and then convert the output to ttxt (or srt if the multiplexer used supports it and internally converts to ttxt)
    2. if you use text based subtitles, these need to be converted to ttxt, but be aware that you will loose next to all styling informations
    3. you can't keep decently styled subtitles inside a mp4 container unless you hardcode them into the video

You have to change the bitrate. Use a bitrate calculator to determine the proper setting for the file size you want.

Also note lower bitrates will lower the quality of the video.

Your target format is a lossy compression so you will always lose quality

    is there easy way ?
if the output was 400MB and you want to have 100MB instead you need to set the output bit rate to a quarter of it's current value, if you don't know the current value use i.e. mediainfo to get the current bit rate of the 400MB file,..
(no clue how to use format factory, never used it, but I guess there is an option to set the output/target bit rate)

I don't know if this would work but try naming the file video1 without the name of the video itself?

I think they have audio watermark programs that can identify songs and such. I don't know if they have a similar program for video. Its possible they could be scanning the video for copyrighted images before uploading - I don't know if thats possible though for video.

Try renaming the file to a generic name and see if that lets it through.
