You tube is going to re-encode again to progressive 29.97 fps or 23.976/25 fps so that is what you should send them. If you send 50i/60i or 50p/60p you add uncertainty as to how they will deinterlace or frame decimate.

You should also send then a relatively high bit rate (limited by max file size limits) to reduce recode loss at YouTube.

Assuming you are shooting 50p/60p with your TM-900, you should send them 1080p h.264 at 25fps/29.97fps. In Vegas, use the Sony AVC codec.

In Greece, if you shoot 1080p/50fps, you should send them 1080p at 25fps. Keep the 50p version as your archive.

Start with the Sony AVC "Internet 1920x1080-25p" template and adjust video bit rate down if Youtube file size limits are exceeded. This will depend on clip length.

edDV do you have different vegas 11 pro than me? sony got rid of the internet presets in 11 pro afaik. they upgraded the mainconcept h264 encoder and now want things other than blu-ray and avchd encoded with that.

this is my sony avc presets list.

    This was Pro 10.

I've got Pro 11 but I'm rebuilding that machine this week. Should be up late next week.

One can set similar parameters into the Mainconcept AVC codec.

The Internet templates were moved from Sony AVC to MainConcept AVC in Vegas Pro 11.0.

yes you're quite right. i misspoke, i meant they got rid of the "sony avc" internet presets. they are alive and well in the mainconcept avc encoder section. i would recommend turning off gpu assist when using it though, for some reason youtube doesn't like the results when rendered using the gpu.
