I encoded a number of SVCDs at 23.976 and all play fine on Pioneers.
They exhibit stuttering issues on Apex and a few other brands.
I had orriginally written it off to bad media, bad player, bad software, bad connection to tube, etc., but finnally narrowed it down to the frame rate.
It seems that Apex and at least one other brand don't know how to do 3:2 in hardware.
I've tried Apex 600A and Apex 1500. Both seem to freak on 23.976, while several models of Pioneers just love it.
Perhaps this should be yet another little criteria when reviewing DVD players?
I guess my only real option is to only use 25 or 29.97 if I would like to be copatible with both. But if there is a fix, well that would be fantastic!!!
So for my question, is there a way to get Apex to handle NTSC Film frame rate SVCDs? I have two Pioneers, but was hoping to continue using the my Apex as well.
