    Hi All,

I need to repair/recover an AVC Baseline@L3.0-encoded .mp4 file. From searching the forums it seems https://www.videohelp.com/tools/Video-Repair-Tool is recommended. But $40 isn't justified in this case...

Are there any free tools or techniques I could try for this file? I know what its metadata like encoding format, frame rate, aspect ratio etc. should be from other videos created by the same application.

    Many thanks in advance,
    Francois

For posterity, HD Video Repair Tool does the trick in this case.

I also came across a Mac-based tool, Remo Repair MOV Software at http://repairmov.remosoftware.com/ that claims to do a similar job. At a similar price . Unfortunately I don't have access to a Mac to report back on its usage.
