I've compiled a super DVD in DVD Lab Pro, and I have some roof left on the disc to include complimentary reading files that go along with the videos on the DVD. Is that possible? I have a Mac, so I'm looking for either Windows apps or OS X apps. They will both work with my setup. I need to be able to add an EXTRAS folder to the DVD disc that contains PDF documents for a user to access on their computer from the disc, but I don't know what to look for. Any pointers and help would be wonderful!

Yes. You could output as VIDEO_TS folder in dvd lab pro. Then use IMGBURN to add the VIDEO_TS folder, see http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=4632 and then make a new folder and add your pdf documents.

    Baldrick,

Is there another option/application? The application apparently doesn't detect my optical drive.

    What?
DVDLab Pro doesn't detect your hard drive?....because that is where you instruct DVDLab Pro to put the VIDEO_TS folder.

    heck54,

IMGBURN does not detect my optical drive, so I can't follow the tutorial as it is written. And since the tutorial is about "How to write DVD Video files directly to single layer media using ImgBurn" rather than "How to add non dvd content to a DVD disc for viewing on a computer" I'm not exactly sure how to follow it to accomplish what I want to do here.

I've already output to folder with DVD Lab, and everything is fine thus far. There are some PDF documents that accompany the videos which I want to include on the disc. Obviously they wouldn't be accessible from a DVD Player, but I was hoping that with a computer, a user could access the additional documents if they wanted to, from the same disc that the DVD content is on.

    Baldrick,

The part that I don't get here is "then make a folder and add your pdf documents." Just how is this accomplished? How can this be added to the DVD?

Create a folder called DATA, place your (pdf) stuff in there.
    Open ImgBurn
Write Files Or Folder To Disc
Place the VIDEO_TS folder in first....
    ...place the DATA folder next.
Calculate(to make sure all is well).
    Burn.

I find it interesting but disappointing, that ImgBurn doesn't recognize your optical drive. What model is it? Maybe LightningUK can find a way to add it to his roster.

In the meantime, do everything that was mentioned except instead of "write image file to disc" or "write files/folders to disc" you use "create image file from files/folders" and output to an .ISO image file. Then burn with Toast or something similar on your Mac (where presubably it DOES recognize your burner). BTW, if those don't recognize your burner either, you ought to think about getting a different burner.

So I open up a "create image file from files/folders", drag AUDIO_TS, EXTRAS (which contains the PDFs I want to be able to access if I put the disc in a computer), AND VIDEO_TS to the composition window. And then export as an ISO file? Forgive me for my ignorance if I'm showing it, but won't this make a DATA DVD that isn't playable in DVD component boxes as a Video DVD? Doesn't the DVD have to be prepared as a Video DVD?

VIDEO_TS folder goes first....then your DATA folder....press the calculator icon. Dialogue should appear below showing you/verifying that it recognized the VIDEO_TS folder and that it will be creating a DVD Video image. I believe another tell-tale sign is that in that list it will also show region information and video format(PAL, NTSC). If you see that you are good to go.

The ISO image created will be for a video DVD. ImgBurn has enough intelligence built into it to recognize that it is making an image for a DVD video disc because a VIDEO_TS folder was added.
