  1. Hi everyone,

Newbie here.. but very familiar with certain files formats for videos. I've been trying to demux 720p HD MKV files with TSMuxer in m2ts format for editing in Sony Vegas 9. Every time I drag the demuxed m2ts (and every other file option on TSMuxer) file into Vegas, it only has an audio stream.. I can play m2ts files from Blu-Ray's just fine in Vegas. I did convert them to MP4 files and they worked.. but a few frames got really messed up. Those were not present in the source MKV file.. Any ideas on what is wrong with Vegas or the m2ts files?

Here is the info on the video/audio:

  2. Vegas used to not to accept demuxed streams, or just some of them. TS should work.

  3. I tried TS, still have the same issue. Is there a format that I can convert it to without little-to-no quality loss?

  4. Vegas 9 is quite old and still might have some issues with H.264, better is to test latest release,
BUT, I myself have Vegas 8 and load H.264 because I have ffdshow installed. I can read in properties for clip that ffdshow is reading that file, some mp4's. It reads avi with H.264 in it too. Mp4cam2avi changes my mov container from photo camera with H.264 into avi and then I load it into Vegas.

  5. I tried using Vegas 11, it wouldn't even open the file. I guess I'll have to stick to MP4 conversion, even though I hate it. Is it possible I could be missing some sort of codec?

  6. It can load mp4 with H.264 but could be very particular sometimes it will not load audio sometimes audio only, so I could test some samples over past years, I don't know what settings Vegas doesn't like or likes, perhaps even programers don't, they just trouble shoot camcorder videos, or formats they were told to. Camcorder videos and similar. Obviously they do not troubleshoot for all kinds of variations for H.264 parameters and containers at the same time or they might even sabotage some , what do we know . Heck, even version 11 for some reason will not smart render progressive HDV same way as in previous versions so if I want to smart render my 30p I have to use older version. So stuff can get weird , could differ from version to version.

you can cut some 20 seconds or so (mkvmerge, set split after 20 second and then stop the proces) and post it
