Will Panasonic RP56 play MP3's copied to a CD-R as data file

I have read where people have been able to put over 100 mp3 songs on one CD-R. The only way I know how to do this is to burn the CD-R as data files. After I burn the Sony 30CDQ80N1 CD-R I am able to play them from my computer but not on the DVD player.

Any Information will be helpful.

Is your DVD player multi-format(mp3,vcd,svcd,dvd)?

I use nero 5.5 and I can play them on my rp-56 just fine when you put the cd in the player mp3 should show up on the display
