    i took a .ts video file and demuxed it cause it had 5 audio streams then i remuxed it with english only in .mkv
    because it is an 8gb 1080i file i want to make it smaller and crop it cause i can see 2 bands top and bottom

    it`s hard to see them on the picture i attached but they are visible when you play the movie
    so i want to make it a DVD5 file and remove one of those black bands: https://forum.videohelp.com/images/imgfiles/JQHUA

    any suggestions on how to do this and what software to use?

    edit:Nope. It adds black borders....


    You can use handbrake to crop and shrink it.

    what should be the new resolution 1280x544 ?
    and what values to use for "custom" cropping ?
