TMPG can accept MPEG files

Hi
Just have one problem , after unzip the same TMPG 2.53 in 2 machines,
one can accept MPEG files can convert to MPEG 1 or other format,
but the other machine said TMPG can't support the file format
Both machine can use the MPEG tools to cut or merge the MPEG files
so can anyone pls give me some idea
both machine use Win2k
