I have an AMD 1090T 6-core Computer that will not allow me to play BlueRay directories. I've tried PowerDVD10 and 11,TMT 3 and 5. The program loads but as soon as I load a directory and play begins the program closes. I can get VLC to play BR directories but not PowerDVD or TMT?

Have you run CyberLink BD & 3D Advisor to make sure that your system meets all the requirements for Blu-Ray playback with PowerDVD? Go to the CyberLink website to find the download link.

wulf109 computer specs exceeds blu-ray playback,no need to use a crappy cyberlink adviser, might be something wrong in the codecs that the players are trying to use since VLC uses its own.

The CPU and motherboard do, and the VGA card, but that does not mean the monitor is HDCP compliant. Plus, if he is using VGA with a monitor that is HDCP compliant, his system won't pass.

The files aren't encrypted since he can use VLC to play them so there is no need for a hdcp compliant monitor.

Other PowerDVD 10 and 11 users have reported problems similar to yours. I looked for answers at CyberLink's website and user forum. The recommended fixes were to update video card drivers to the latest version, to re-install PowerDVD with security software disabled (security software sometimes prevents CyberLink codecs from installing) and to close other programs when running PowerDVD.

There are not as many reports of these kinds of problems with TMT 3 and TMT 5, but I did find something that claimed TMT 5 was optimized for the ATI HD5000 and HD6000 cards. Some users said they turned off the video post-processing for their ATI video cards, particularly those from older series, and that worked better with TMT.

Seems to be an incomatibility problem with WinXP on 970 motherboard. I originally had it in a 785 motherboard and no problems with DVD players. I installed W7 on the 970 motherboard and DVD players work. Might be the SM bus Controller. Under XP the mb disk installs but under W7 it does not.
