  4. as Baldrick said, VCDs do not support AC3. SVCDs technically don't either, however, they do support surround sound in its Specifications (surround sound in MP2, not AC3 though). the only problem is that there are so few DVD standalones that support these surround sound SVCDs, that it's not worth bothering with multichannel MP2 tracks. just take your AC3 track and transcode it into a stereo MP2 track, save yourself trouble.

  5. OK,then why do people publish avi files with ac3 sound,if you canīt use the dolby digital track for anything?

  6. You can connect you PC directly to your tv and 5.1 receiver and get full Dolby Digital sound.

Too bad I can never find any videos with ac3 sound.

  8. A) Groups release the DivX with AC3 audio because they assume you're going to use it for the purpose that DivX was created, to be watched on you're computer, not converted to another format. They gave you the DD5.1 track for your viewing enjoyment, not as a burden.

    B) Release groups (whether it be VCD/SVCD/DivX/PSX/PS2) release stuff for themselves and the scene, not for you or any other leechers. they don't care about "keeping it free" despite what you may think. They hate leechers, especially those on P2P programs. any movies there, were not intended to be distrod there, but whatever, it's nothing special that you have a movie, in their eyes that is.
