  1. Ok so im new here and i was just reading the audio sync avi thread and i wasnt really sure what to make of it... so let me explain what is going on... basically i have a .VOD video file directly off a sony camera and the file will play ok... but to edit it i need it in a different format so i have been trying to convert it to avi or any format that will work in premiere but the issue is this: the timeline on the .vod says the clip is 9:46 m/s long however the clip is 26 mins long really... and even though it says its 9 mins long it will play the whole thing but at 12:59 m/s it stops running the time for abit and then restarts the timer at 0:00 after awhile and then plays out till 9:46. Now it is playing the whole clip but the timeline is just messed up... but when i try to convert it it either ends up with 9:46 sec or 13 min or it plays all the way through but after the 12:59 the audio is about 4-5 sec too early for the rest of the clip.... i have been at this for two days and i need this footage for a project.... i just dont know what else i can do...

  6. Perhaps the clip is damaged? Mediainfo reports it to be 9min 46sec as well

There is probably a glitch after that point, which causes the sync issues you are observing

Anyways, the way you import it into premiere is use vob2mpg to re-wrap into mpeg2 stream, and it will import directly

This won't fix your glitch. If you have videoredo you can try the quickstream fix to repair it . The other way might be to cut around that desync point
