  1. Hi, I tried to demux an MPEG2 and create a 16 bit FLAC but no FLAC file was created. This quite often happens when I'm doing 50 MPEG2s and a couple of them don't get FLAC files created. This time I have the log for you as well as the MPEG2 it happened on HERE.
    Quote Quote
  2. will look into it, once I downloaded the zip. (for the future: please upload smaller samples! it takes ages to download 2GB+ wheneverI'm not at home; mobile download is painfully slow and volume restricted)

    doing 50 MPEG2s and a couple of them don't get FLAC files created.
    probably related to a threading problem I fixed yesterday night which is related to Qt5.x (will switch back to Qt4.8.5 for upcoming releases for the time being)

    I can send you a link to a fixed version if you post what OS you are using,...

  3. Windows 7 64-bit. I thought I had to upload the whole MPEG2 so you could confirm what I experienced. I thought if I uploaded a smaller sample then it's a different file and it may suddenly work with regards to creating a FLAC?
    Quote Quote
  4. that might be the case, to be sure you could have just tested if you can reproduce the problem with a smaller sample if you can, the problem is not size related
    Also, always report the version which you used when reporting a problem and not posting a debug output.

  5. I dragged an MPEG2 into the file input and selected video handling: passthrough. Audio handling: auto add (first). I want a 16 bit FLAC file so I said that in the audio tab. I have not changed any settings from when it was working yet now with any MPEG2 file I get the following message "You just added a job with an empty audio queue while audio handling != ignore. Maybe you forgot to put an audio stream in the audio queue. I'm using the latest .exe file developmental version.

    Here's a short MPEG2. Debug file
    Quote Quote
  6. you are using "2013.05.10.1" not the latest version, so I won't look at the debug output or the problem.
    Quote Quote
  7. Sorry I swapped the new for the old version to see if that had the same problem and I forgot to switch back to the new version. I did the files again on the new current version. Here they are.

  8. Audio is ignored by Hybrid since MPlayer reports: "MPEG: No audio stream found"
    So if you load this source into Hybrid, it will not show any audio information.
    -> will look into it, if there's an option to mplayer which allows it to detect the stream properly

    The VP9 encoder doesn't work.

  10. can't reproduce, provide proper infos (see: http://www.selur.de/support) and I will look into it.
    (just tested reencoding an .avi sample file and it was reencoded without a problem)

    What do you think? Is Vp9 better codecs than the x.264 with the best options in Hybrid?

    Are you planning a new web flash/html5 player? There are huge gap in good free web video players.
    Forexample: web player with HD button, with "Smoothing" technology (smooth resize) accelerated rendering etc...
    Nonverblaster was good... but it hasn't real video time prompt.

  12. I already had those options selected. I used Hybrid 2013.09.06.1. I got the same message as before:

    "You just added a job with an empty audio queue while audio handling != ignore. Maybe you forgot to put an audio stream in the audio queue"

    12 second file with debug file.

  13. WTF!? Do not post the content of private messages without the approval of all parties involved !!!
    -> problem will probably be fixed in the next public release, but I will not share any more development versions with someone who posts my private messages publicly without asking me.
    Quote Quote
  14. Sorry I wasn't aware that was a rule of the forum? Why does it matter? I never posted private info about you - it was just your instructions on how to get the program working!
    Quote Quote
  15. a. It does matter since the link I send you is not a link publicly available. (doesn't matter any more since I now moved that folder any will spend the next few hours reporting to other people that the download links have changed)
    b. do you understand what the meaning of 'private' is
    If some one sends you a private message, it's content is ment to be private.
    Quote Quote
  16. Sorry I won't do that again. Just wondering why it matters if people have public access to that link or not as I thought you posted it so people could have the latest developmental version?
    Quote Quote
  17. If I wanted people in general to play around with the latest development version I would post the link publicly on my homepage.

    Sorry I won't do that again
    You didn't even edit you post and remove the link after knowing that I don't approve of you posting content of a PM.

    I thought you posted it
    I did not post it! I send it in a PM!

    I didn't post anything again like I said. It didn't occur to me to edit the post I already made. I removed the PM content from the post now. Sorry.

    To Selur:

    After you discussed your love letters (private messages) with your friend, can you focus to this important question?

    What do you think? Is Vp9 better codecs than the x.264 (with the best options) in Hybrid?

  20. I'm not getting the error message anymore but I'm still getting the usual problem of non-generation of FLAC files from some MPEGs. I'm choosing to demux video and get 16 bit FLAC files. Here's a 10 sec sample with debug file.

    don't have any need for one + don't have the time

    Nonverblaster was good... but it hasn't real video time prompt
    what do you mean with 'real video time prompt'

    What do you think? Is Vp9 better codecs than the x.264 (with the best options) in Hybrid?
    I would say that:
    • looking at the specification VP9 quality is the better format
    • in praxis, I would say that unless you got a source which really profits from x264s psychovisual enhancements, VP9 will deliver a better quality at the same size than x264
    • VP9 is too slow to be usable atm. (might be interesting if the google guys do some optimization)
    • VP9s (and VP8s) rate control is horrible (2pass doesn't hit even near a specified target bitrate) and therefore unusable
    • VP9s and VP8s documentation isn't really good

    -> atm. I wouldn't recommend to use VP9 at all

  22. @VideoFanatic:
    Here is what I did:
    1. started the Hybrid version I last send you
    2. enabled "Config->Input->Ignore all audio on buggy input"
    3. enabled "Config->Input->Extraction->Stream extraction with ffmpeg"
    4. set "Main->Primary Input Selection->Video handling" to "passthrough"
    5. set "Main->Primary Input Selection->Audio handling" to "auto add (first)"
    6. enabled "Audio->Main->Reencode"
    7. set "Audio->Audio Encoding Options->Audio format" to "flac"
    8. set a default output path ("Config->Path->Default output path"
    9. set "Config->Output->Container Settings->General Settings->Standard output container" to "raw"
    10. enabled "Main->Generate"
    11. loaded the "ECW Hardcore TV January 09 1996 10 secs test.mpg" sample you provided
    12. pressed "Main->add to queue"
    13. Switched to the Job-Tab and checked the created jobs and got a job with 6 subjobs
      • 01_audio: extracting audio as pcm/wav using ffmpeg
      • 02_audio: encoding audio to flac
      • 03_cleanUp: deleting 17_03_09_7410_01_iId_1_aid_160_DELAY_2ms.mov
      • 04_rename: renaming iId_1_aid_160_DELAY_2ms_17_03_09_7410_02.flac to ECW Hardcore TV January 09 1996 10 secs test.flac
      • 05_video: extracting video with ffmpeg
      • 06_rename: renaming 17_03_09_7410_05.m2v to ECW Hardcore TV January 09 1996 10 secs test.m2v

      from the looks of it everything is fine
    14. pressed Jobs->Start

    So after processing was finished, I too didn't see an audio output file inside the output folder, so I checked the temp folder and there it was.
    Checking the second audio job I realized the problem:
    When doing audio encoding with ffmpeg Hybrid doesn't set the tempPath to the outputPath when raw output (or 'no muxing and splitting' is set)
    -> will fix this for the next public release (fixed locally)

    But what about the VP9 issue? I used default options of VP9, and mkv container. It didn't work.

    a. That's the first time you provide any info about the problem.
    b. that's still not enough information
    'It didn't work.' doesn't help me at all.

  27. Just reencoded a bunch of HD Sample without a problem. (Encoding is slow, but that's VP9, could be a lot faster it it at least was multithreaded,...)

    Cu Selur

    Ps.: Decoding of the attached clip work fine with Chrome (with ' --enable-vp9-playback')

    HI!

    OK. Here is a short video file:

    http://dictaphone.atw.hu/mozdony.MTS (It's only 72 MByte) 24Mbit/s Progressive Segmented Frame AVCHD file.

    Can you transcode that short video into 7Mbit/s 1920*1080 VP9 file?

    Thank you!
