I'm trying to create a XVCD from an AVI. I followed the "how to" on this site using TMPGEnc.
The XVCD plays and the image quality is great, except when the subject is moving or the camera is panning. There is "ghosting" on the screen (image is blurred when there is movement).
Here are the specs I used(following the tutorial on this site):
source AVI: 720x480 29.97fps from DV footage
TMPGEnc settings: ("video" tab) 720x480, 4:3 525 line (NTSC) aspect ratio, 29.97 fps, CBR 2500kbps
("advanced" tab) non-interlace (progressive), 1:1 (VGA) source aspect ratio, Full screen (keep aspect ratio) video arrange method
("system" tab) MPEG-1 Video-CD (non-standard)
Am I missing something here? I tried dropping the fps to 23.976 with worse results. Should the video source type be Interlace instead of non-interlace?
Thanks for your help,
d

I don't know if this will help, but you can try reading under the DVD Players Compatibility List to see what the maximum bitrate for X-VCD is for your DVD player.
