I am a drummer. (hence, limited computer knowlege) I have a mixer hooked up to my comp, and a web-cam. I am trying to record myself playing drums to a song I am listening to through headphones on my CD player. (To post to You-tube, etc.) I can get the video, but no audio. There are no problems with my mixer, this problem is driving me insane!

Give model #s and detailed piece by piece descriptions of the connection chain, along with details of computer, os, a/v apps and what you think the methodology is...

    Scott

Btw, things like these are usually a problem with inadequate vid cap software that can't handle v + a from separate sources. Or operator error.

Thanks Scot. I am using an Alesis multimix 16 USB for my sound. (External, all mics plug into it) I have Windows 7. My mixer plugs into the computer, I have a CD player plugged in to the mixer. I used to record video and audio simultaneously on Windows Movie maker. I've been looking for alternate video sources.
