  1. I have the newest version of TMPGEnc, but it's not encoding anything. When i play the encoded file, all i see is a black screen. Is it just me or is anyone else having this problem?

Does anyone know where I can get version 12a?

    Thanks!

Oh, and I have WIN XP.

When you load your video/audio and hit start do you see the preview playing while it's encoding????

  4. Has anyone here that has WIN XP been able to encode a divx into MPEG1 file? I think it's because of windows xp since version 12a didn't work either.

do you have the right codecs installed to watch the video to begin with?
if not, TMPG can't do anything with the video

  7. I've had this problem before too--but generally I had the wrong codecs installed or needed to reinstall them for some reason... After I did that, it encoded fine.

P.S. I am also having problems (audio out of sync) with the newest version of TMPGEnc, I pretty sure is the version because I have both working and version 12a does great with the sync.

  11. Yeah, I use XP with it. Maybe try using Nimo's Codec pack from vcdhelp.com's tools section but when given the option, just use the codecs that are already checked by default when you install them. That's what fixed my problem. Sometimes a codec doesn't play nicely with your setup. I use the newest Tmpgenc version and it seems to do alright.

  17. dude, I'm sorry--I have no idea what it could be--I don't know if the vfapi reader has anything to do with that or if you've installed it....? Just play around with it and try different things... I wish I could help you more--I'm pretty new at this myself...

  19. Load the Dixv 3 and Divx 4 codecs, more than likely it was encoded with an older version.
    I had the same problem.
