I want to find great JVC VCR for restoring video.
I stopped my choice at HR-S9500E / HR-S9600Eu.
Are there big difference in quality with D-VHS players?
Should I buy only 9xxx line or 7600 has the same filters and quality?
Or what other model should I prefer and why?

The 7600's were budget versions of the 9xxx series. Go for the bigger numbers. The big question is, what kind of tapes do you have? Are they commercial tapes or mostly home-made at long-play 6-hour or 4-hour speeds?
JVC D-VHS players sold at 10 times the cost of the 9500's.Last edited by sanlyn; 21st Mar 2014 at 20:35.

ONLY home-made, SP usually.
D-VHS costs more, but maybe it has better video playback quality, filters? -
If you can afford it. You might want to look into this discussion, with more on these matters elsewhere in the same thread:

So, there is no big difference between the quality of TBC1000 and AVT8710?

I have ability to buy JVC HR-S8955EE (looks like it is absolutely new, but it makes no much sense to me) and to buy HR-9500E/HR-9600E.
Which one should I prefer? Why?
