Hi there, I'm trying to track down a freeware program that will allow me to crop an mpg or flv video as one would do so an image. e.g., lets say the attached image is a video and I wanted to crop the selected area. Cheers

  2. Opening the video in an AviSynth script and cropping it (before then reencoding it) is one way. With just the picture to go by the script is somewhat different, although the crop's the same:

    ImageSource("E:\videoexample.bmp")
    Crop(172,126,-128,-134)

Didn't get very far I'm afraid. Installed .net 1.1 but AviSynth won't run. Keeps asking me to install .net...

I used CS5 trial in the past with great ease. Any other ideas?

    Cheers

I had a video of a friend with her mate off to the side in the video ... I wanted to make a short video of her doing a little dancing jig that lasted only about 10 seconds.

I used Virtualdub ... to crop him out using the null transform filter ... worked just fine ... and then I saved it as a avi non compressed. I then used another program to convert it to a wmv to put on my Facebook page.
